  PCC

Gateway to College was developed at Portland Community College in Portland, Oregon. It is part of a family of programs serving youth, 16-20 years old, under the umbrella of PCC Prep Alternative Programs.

PCC Prep philosophy

We believe that all students have the capacity to achieve in the collegiate environment, including students who have not experienced success in the
K - 12 system. We strive to:
  • Help students achieve academic success
  • Open young student's eyes to post high school opportunities
  • Provide a transition to the post secondary environment
  • Support students during their enrollment

PCC Prep programs

PCC Prep offers three programs:
  • Gateway to College, helping high school dropouts complete their diploma requirements while earning college credits toward an associate's degree
  • MAP - the Multicultural Academic Program - serving students who need to improve their English literacy skills prior to embarking on college
  • YES! - Youth Empowered to Succeed! - serving students through GED preparation
